Fashion Friday: Gap

I am really liking the jean look again. It come in and out of style, but I guess if Gap is doing it again it would be safe for me to pull my non-pant jean items back out of storage? Maybe? Maybe not?

Fashion Friday: Flip Flops and Socks

I seriously went out on Wednesday night for my last minute brown sugar and bay leaves in my PJ bottoms, an apron, socks and flip flops.
I was hoping and praying that I wouldn't run into anyone I knew.
How silly was I to think that the neighborhood Safeway wouldn't have at least 1 person there that I knew. Yup. I was caught.

It was one of my dearest friend's husband. He took one look at me in the check out line and walked to another line to check out. Was he embarrassed to see me? Or maybe just the other line was shorter? Either way, next year I am totally sending my husband for those last minute things. She is way smarter than me.

Fashion Friday: Not Me

I am really not a fashionable person... but it is "fashion friday" so here goes...

I wore a new outfit today. Sometimes I find that I buy clothes that I will be able to wear when I am pregnant again.

Who am I kidding... I almost ALWAYS buy clothes that I will be able to wear when I am pregnant again.

No exception today. Last weekend I went on a little shopping spree with a girlfriend in L.A. I budgeted very nicely and hardly spent a dime. Fabulous!
I did find a fun shirt that I am wearing in the picture here... at the Rack!
Love that store.
A little too much I am afraid.

So when you are non-prego... do you buy clothes that you could wear again when you are pregnant? or just stick to strictly non-pregnant clothes? Do you even get what I am talking about?

Fashion Friday: Second Hand Stores

Our local second hand children's store has a HUGE lot of maternity clothes. Was I the only one in the world who didn't know they sold maternity clothes at these kind of stores? Totally keeping that on my list for next time....

So back to the amazing fashions at second hand stores. I found these awesome boots for my daughter who is obsessed with horses.

This may have been the best $9.99 ever spent.
What kind of things have you scored when buying at second hand stores?

Fashion Friday: Walmart Deals

Interested in a $4 maternity shirt?
Yes, it is from Walmart, in their clearance section, but seriously... you can't beat $4. Well, you could, if it was $3, but hard to find for sure.

Fashion Friday: Owls

I love the Owls are so "in" right now. They are cute and can be made any color. They are really popular, popping up all over target and kohls and basically everywhere you look.

That doesn't make them less cute does it??
I also LOVE that they are gender neutral.

You all know how much I love and support etsy... so maybe my next baby will get an owl themed room from etsy. Since I may or may not find out the sex... I could do that, right??

Check out the print HERE

Fashion Friday: Announcement

Wouldn't this be a fun way to announce a pregnancy?
Just a simple necklace that some may see and others may not.
Just that quiet, no extra hustle and bustle?
Kind of like letting people in on a really exciting secret little by little.
Loving this idea. No announcement from this peanut gallery... but I am anxiously awaiting an announcement from my business partner.
Just sayin...
I really want another nephew.
(one sissy is already baking me a niece, so I want to keep things even.)

Fashion Friday: Maternity Style

Remember those quizzes you took in Seventeen magazine when you were in middle school? Oh, you don't? Wow, ummm.... I guess neither do I.

I sure don't remember having sleep overs and bringing out the "racy" magazines that my mom cancelled my subscription to when she found out I paid money for it. Seriously. Like it was Seventeen or TeenVogue or some other magazine that I am sure is out of print by now.

She probably thought my Delia's catalog was a little over the top too. Ah mother. How I love you.

Anyway, I found a cute "Maternity Style" QUIZ online that I thought would be fun to take.

Here are my results:
Your Results
You're Pragmatic and PracticalThis bodes well for your future parenting skills; you know when to sweat the small stuff, and when to break out the sweatpants. As for your wardrobe, you're most at home in simple separates with clean lines and classic styling. Fortunately for you, there are lots of great-looking options out there that won't break the bank: Gap Online and Old Navy Online are good choices, as is Motherhood Maternity. And if you want to be ultra practical, you can purchase Belly Basics' Pregnancy Kit -- a tunic, dress, pants, and skirt, all in black. Save the rest of your wardrobe budget to buy fun accessories that you can wear after the baby is born! This quiz is for entertainment and/or educational purposes only. Fashion Friday: Organic Breast Pads

I am not sure why I never used reusable breast pads. I am talking about the nursing pads you put in your nursing bra when you are breastfeeding in order to prevent leaks onto your clothes.

Come on- we all leaked once or twice onto our clothes- especially that first time your milk comes in and you wake up drenched. Believe me 1st time moms- it will happen.

I always used the lansinoh breast pads. I guess I used them because I used Lansinoh nipple cream and Lansinoh storage bags for my milk. Also I really like what they stand for. I felt they weren't trying to sell their products as much as they were really trying to help others.

(Obviously they are a business and trying to make money- but somehow in my mind I was a loyal customer and very supportive of this brand.)

Anyway, they are individually wrapped in plastic, they have a plastic backing to cover the sticky side of the pad. Talk about wasteful. Anyway, I probably went through 30 boxes of these guys with each nursling because I nursed and leaked for so long.

So why in the world would I use cloth diapers to help be green but not use cloth nursing pads??

Enter My Organic Breast Pads HERE

I am sold. They are organic, washable, reusable, and cute. Sure they are usually hidden by a nursing bra and they get all covered in milk, but we will be saving the earth and protecting from embarassing leaks in style.
LOVE THEM! What do you think??

Back to the necklace- I think it is just fabulous and simple. Nothing crazy and full of good fertility energy.

Fashion Friday: EcoMaternity

I am branching out---- leaving Etsy searches this week and I have moved over to Big Cartel? Heard of it? Yeah, I am slow to the game too.

I found this cute little store called EcoMaternity. They have some cute t-shirts for sale now.

My favorite shirt they have is this one, "Sing for Joy" shirt. Very simple and cute and it reminds us to cherish the sweet moments of pregnancy.
